From Birth Obsessed Kid to Online Course Creator: The Story Behind Your Birth, Your Options
Why I Created a Digital Childbirth Course
I’ve been obsessed with birth since I was ten years old. While other kids were into sports or American Girl dolls, I was diving into anything pregnancy and baby-related I could find. Fast forward a couple of decades, and that fascination turned into a full-fledged career: birth doula, private childbirth educator, and now — creator of a digital course that’s been years in the making.
Your Birth, Your Options isn’t some random project I threw together to hop on the passive income train. It was born (pun very much intended) out of years of in-person teaching, attending births, hearing stories, and feeling that tug to reach more people, especially the ones who don't have access to quality, real-talk birth ed.
Getting in My Own Way (and Learning to Move Past It)
Darcy and I talked candidly about what slows people down when launching something new in the episode and often it’s not tech, money, or time. It’s fear. And for me, that fear showed up in the form of second-guessing, procrastination, and avoiding the camera like it was contagious.
But I started making real progress once I named what was holding me back (hi, perfectionism and impostor syndrome). I built the course I knew people needed — the one I wished every pregnant person could access, especially those living in rural areas, working night shifts, or just feeling burned out by confusing or condescending birth content.
If you’ve ever wished you had a guide to help you prepare for birth on your terms — my online course, Your Birth, Your Options, was made for you.
Doula Life, Burnout, and a More Sustainable Way Forward
Being on call is exhausting, I won’t like about that. I’ve done the three-day birth marathons and the 12-hour “sprints” that leave you wiped for days. Teaching private classes between births? That schedule eventually became unsustainable. Creating a digital course became not just a dream but a necessity.
This course lets me offer what I know, love, and believe in to way more people without burning out. And if you’re someone who doesn’t love hospital birth classes (🙋🏾♀️), this course was designed with you in mind.
Whether you’re in a rural area, working third shift, or just tired of scrolling TikTok for labor tips — you can access solid, real-talk education here:
