Meet Kelli Blinn, Your Doula
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I’m married to my best friend, and I have the gift of two beautiful children who call me Mama.
Since the age of 10, I've been completely fascinated by everything related to pregnancy, birth, and the female body. Becoming a mother myself was the catalyst I needed to push me to chase after my long-held interests and turn my passions into a career. This work will never grow old. It’s a distinct honor to partner with families during what is often the most powerful life change they will ever encounter.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
I’m a trained and certified professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help you achieve the most satisfying experience possible.
-
No way! While the birthing person is always my top priority, I’m a doula for your support person(s) too. I support you, however, you need it.
-
Nope! Midwives provide medical care for you during pregnancy, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Doulas provide you with emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Think of it like this: midwives on the inside (of your body), doulas on the outside!

We’d meet for at least two prenatal visits, lasting an hour or so each, depending on the level of support that you purchase. You’ll also have access to me via phone calls, texts, and emails. I’m a very in-touch doula, and I view each interaction as a chance for us to continue getting to know each other and for you to build your trust in me.
-
Sure do! You can read about them here. When a client decides to work with me, I send a message to my backups and see who’s available around the estimated due date. At least one of my prenatal visits with you would include the backup, and you could be in touch with her as often as you’d like.
-
I sure do attend home births! I support clients for hospital births as well. Birth is birth, I’ll go wherever you go!
-
This one does! I’m a doula without an agenda. I’m not trying to convince you to go through labor and delivery a certain kind of way. I work with you to figure out what your preferences are in hopes that your actual experience is as close to that as possible.
-
My suggestion though is to hire one by 20 weeks along if you can so you have as much time to form a bond throughout the duration of your pregnancy as possible. I’ve had clients hire me days after getting a positive pregnancy test and I’ve had others hire me in their third trimester. If we’re a good fit, I’ll likely take you as a client however far along in your pregnancy you might be.
-
I do not take insurance. However, if you have an FSA/HSA account, you can usually use those funds to pay for my services. If finances concern you, ask friends and family to chip in on doula support rather than buying things from a baby registry. Click here to contact me about gift card options!

This really varies from family to family, but I suggest hiring a doula in your first trimester if you can. The earlier you decide on your doula, the more time you’ll have to form a bond with her and fine tune your birth wishes together. If you’re reaching out for a doula later in pregnancy, it’s not that you’re “too late”. Some of my favorite clients hired me late in their third trimester!
