TRANSITIONING INTO SUMMER, RECIPES, & A SHOP

Memorial Day has happened.

My kids have one more day of school left and then they’ll transition to seventh and fourth grade. What?!

Pools are open, mosquitoes are biting, and repetitive cookout meals have commenced. I’m here for it. Summer 2022, I’m so ready for you. After two years of summer not feeling quite right, things are feeling kind of normal this go around. Yaaaaaasss!

Since I’m no longer working a mandatory 40+ hour work week like in the last few years, I want to maximize the flexibility I have in my schedule while my kids are out of school. We’re excited to spend days at the pool, take a few road trips, go on family bike rides, and live a little more spontaneously. Our days will be filled with seeing family and friends who are visiting from out of state, going to the farmer’s market, and soaking up the sun.

I WON’T BE AS ACTIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR THIS BLOG FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. WHEN THE MOOD STRIKES, I’LL PROBABLY DO SOME BATCH-POSTING AND SCHEDULE THEM OUT.

I’M STILL TAKING INQUIRIES, BUT MIGHT BE A LITTLE SLOWER TO RESPOND, ESPECIALLY SINCE I DON’T HAVE MANY OPENINGS LEFT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR LABOR CLIENTS.

I’M TAKING A BREAK FROM PASSION PARTNERS, BUT WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH ME IN THE FALL. I HAVE OPENINGS FOR SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER RIGHT NOW.

I’LL HIT THE GROUND RUNNING AGAIN THE DAY AFTER LABOR DAY WHICH IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH. FEEL FREE TO CALL OR TEXT ME, COMMENT HERE OR REACH OUT IN WHATEVER WAY MAKES SENSE FOR YOU. I PROMISE I’LL STILL BE AROUND!

Something that’s become a summertime staple in our house is homemade popsicles. I don’t have exact recipes I follow, but I thought I’d share my process with you in case you have the interest to whip up your own concoction!

After trying several different styles and brands, this Koji Ice option that I found at Target is my favorite. I simply throw in whatever fruit or sweet treat at the bottom and fill it to the line with the milk/juice/yogurt we have on hand at the time.

Chocolate Popsicle Option

  • Organic chocolate whole milk or dairy-free chocolate milk (my kids say this is the BEST almond milk in the world)

  • Chocolate chips or M&Ms are our go-tos

Fruity Popsicle Option 1

  • Naked Juice or something similar

  • Fresh blueberries or fresh diced strawberries or any fruit that compliments the juice being used

Fruity Popsicle Option 2

  • Organic Greek vanilla yogurt

  • Fresh berries

See! It’s nothing fancy, but the kids love em and they’re cheaper than buying stuff at the store, not to mention I know exactly what’s in each one. If you end up making some of your own, let me know how they turn out! And if you experiment with other flavor combos, please share because we can always use some fresh ideas!

Have you heard of Earthley? They’re a Columbus-based company that I learned about earlier in the year when a friend started working there. I’ve come to really enjoy their line of skincare products as well as some of their tinctures so much that I started an affiliate with them! If products with all-natural ingredients are your thang, check em out. Click here to shop. At the top of the page, it should say “Your Earthley representative is Kelli” which allows you to shop under my account. Or if you prefer, you simply share my name where it asked who to be thanked/who referred you. My favorite items so far are:

  • Good Night Magnesium Lotion (scented) - This has become part of a nightly ritual for me and my husband in the last few weeks. The smell is lovely and perfect for bedtime and the lotion goes on thick and calmly. I love how soft the soles of my feet feel now, it’s like I’ve had a pedicure recently and I certainly have not!

  • Soothing Skin Balm - I use this on my arms, legs, and feet in the morning for moisture throughout the entire day. It is thick like the nighttime lotion so a little bit goes a long way and has made my skin feel amazing!

  • Clear Skin Essential Oil Roller - Not only does this smell amazing and double as a subtle and delightful body fragrance, but it has worked for my pre-teen! Using a little bit once a day helped clear up the acne that formed due to daily mask-wearing within a week or so.
